Hello 7th Ward!
On Saturday, August 16, 2008 my husband, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. and I will be hosting a 7th Ward & 2nd Congressional District Back-To-School rally and picnic for students in our ward and district returning to school.

The picnic is being emceed by V103's Ramonski Love. At this picnic will be giving away hundreds of backpacks filled with supplies, and grilling up a feast.
Additionally, my husband and I will unveil the first annual 7th Ward Rising Star Award honoring area youth who excel in the classroom and have shown exemplary dedication to their community. Award winners will receive a VIP trip to DC with personal tours of the capital lead by me and my husband.
We hope that by coming together, we can show our kids that we stand united in helping them learn and achieve.
